Study Timer ⏱️

Work for 25 minutes, rest for 5, and take a longer break after every fourth session. A chime tells you when to stop and when to start again, even while you are in another tab.

    Studying with a timer

    Why 25 minutes

Short, timed blocks are easier to start than an open-ended evening of revision, and the break comes before attention runs out. Twenty-five minutes is the classic Pomodoro length; younger students often do better with 15, and exam candidates with 40 or 50. Change it in Settings.

It keeps time in the background

The timer reads the clock rather than counting seconds, so it stays exact when the tab is in the background or the phone screen locks. The chime is set for the exact end the moment you press Start.

    Make the breaks real breaks

Stand up, look out of a window, drink some water. A break spent scrolling a phone does not rest the part of the brain that was working, and the next session starts tired.

    Nothing leaves your device

Nothing is sent or saved. Your lengths go in the address bar, so you can bookmark your own rhythm. The list of finished sessions lasts only as long as this tab is open.

A timer helps you sit down. A tutor helps you get further.

Our tutors plan revision with students week by week — what to study, in what order and how to check it has stuck — at home or online.
