Along the corridor, then up the stairs
In (3, −2) the first number is across (x) and the second is up or down (y). Battleships only counts a shot if you get them the right way round.
Draw any straight line y = mx + c, drag two points to find the gradient, midpoint and equation, then practise reading coordinates with a game of battleships.
Drag A and B — they snap to whole-number coordinates.
Ships lie along the grid lines on points from −5 to 5: one of 4 points, one of 3 and two of 2. Type the coordinates — x first, then y — and fire.
In (3, −2) the first number is across (x) and the second is up or down (y). Battleships only counts a shot if you get them the right way round.
In y = mx + c, c is where the line crosses the y-axis and m is how far it climbs for each step to the right. A negative m goes downhill.
Everything runs in your browser and nothing is saved. The address bar keeps the line, so a link opens the same graph.
Our tutors help students connect equations and graphs — the foundation for functions in Grade 12.
